Everyone loves summer for different reasons; Lamborghini owners love the wealth of beautiful driving days that summer provides. In this newsletter we highlight a few of the top drive routes for you to enjoy with your Lamborghini during peak driving season.

The past month has brought several exciting events and driving programs. International media were invited to Italy to get a unique behind-the-scenes look at the Lamborghini engineering, design and production facilities and their emphasis on quality. Southern California dealers hosted a track day for customers with the newest Gallardo vehicles at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. And as you will see in the World News section, the Lamborghini brand is growing and reaching new super sports car lovers in all areas of the globe.

Also in this newsletter, we profile author Terry Goodkind, who loves getting behind the wheel of his Murciélago LP640 when he’s not writing epic fantasies.

Summer always brings exciting events and gatherings for the Lamborghini family, and this year is no exception.

As many enthusiasts already know, the annual Monterey car week is approaching in August. In this newsletter we preview the events in which Lamborghini plans to participate and show vehicles.

In June, a group of nearly 30 owners joined us for the annual Giro customer drive. This year’s route took the group from Phoenix to Sedona, the Grand Canyon and eventually ended in Las Vegas. As always, many new friends and great memories were made.

Two dealer events last month brought Lamborghini owners to racetracks in northern and southern California. In San Francisco, guests experienced the unveiling of the newest Lamborghini models and later put them to the test at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. At the Ultimate Lamborghini Experience outside Los Angeles, participants put their vehicles on the track and got driving tips from professionals. They also got to spend time with our friend and longtime Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni.

Also in this month’s newsletter we take a look at some historic Lamborghini vehicles that have made headlines at recent auctions. And lastly, we feature Famiglia Lamborghini member Anthony Cools, who hypnotizes Las Vegans in his Paris Casino act and with his Lamborghini collection.

We are now nearly at the official start of summer, which means it's driving season. Hopefully all Lamborghini owners are getting the chance to take their cars out on the open road, as many official dealers, customers and international media have done over the last month.

In Italy last month, Lamborghini dealer executives and media from around the world had the opportunity to drive and learn about the newest flagship, the Aventador LP 700-4. Guests experienced not only the beautiful new bull but the city of Rome, as detailed in this month's newsletter.

Lamborghini dealers have been hosting customers for street, scenic and charity drive events across the country. In Miami, Lamborghini participated in a charity drive with actress Eva Longoria to benefit the Rally for Kids with Cancer Foundation. In Scottsdale, customers took their vehicles for a scenic mountain drive while on the east coast, many Lamborghini enthusiasts participated in the annual BullFest event in New York..

Also in this month's newsletter, we highlight some of the summer items from Collezione Automobili Lamborghini to help enthusiasts keep cool during summer drives and other seasonal outings.

 Spring has sprung at Lamborghini, and like many of you, we are looking forward to getting out on the open road.

In April, models from the dynamic Gallardo range were featured at several events throughout the U.S. First, the LP 570-4 Superleggera, LP 560-4 Spyder, LP 550-2 Bicolore and LP 570-4 Spyder Performante were on display at the Masters Tournament in Augusta from April 5-7. Lamborghini and our R&D partner Callaway collaborated to meet with media and attendees at the world-renowned tournament.

The Gallardo LP 560-4 Coupe and Spyder, LP 570-4 Superleggera and LP 550-2 Bicolore were also featured at DeLuxe San Diego on April 14-16, a high-end event that allowed Southern Californians to get behind the wheel of these exciting vehicles.

April 21 marked the official U.S. media launch of the Bicolore and Spyder Performante, as both vehicles were put to work on the track at Monticello Motor Club in New York. Local customers and top U.S. media spent the day learning about the new vehicles and testing them at the state-of-the-art facility.

Also in this issue, we take a closer look at the lightweight technology featured in our newest vehicle, the Aventador LP 700-4. In the coming weeks, media and dealers will be getting behind the wheel of the Aventador in Rome for the official launch of the vehicle; look for photos and more details on that event in the June newsletter.

With all the excitement surrounding the launch of the new V12 flagship model, we can’t forget about our V10 Gallardo line, the best selling vehicle family in Lamborghini’s history. In this newsletter we review this model’s history and the derivatives that have thrilled drivers since its debut in 2003.

We are pleased to announce that Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann was decorated as a Grand Officer in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. This merit emphasizes Lamborghini’s important role in the region and in the super sports car world.

Lamborghini’s home is featured in this month’s new “Did You Know” section, with historical facts about the Bologna region of Northern Italy. We also have news about new Directors who will be joining the Lamborghini team.

This month we are thrilled to reveal to the world the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. This new lightweight Gallardo was introduced to worldwide media at a special preview event during the Los Angeles Auto Show press days, and will be available in showrooms in spring 2011.

Our other new super light vehicle, the Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, has been making appearances at U.S. dealers for customer driving events. This month the tour will wrap up with stops in Atlanta, Orlando, Sarasota, Palm Beach and Miami.

A Superleggera was also on prominent display at the Callaway Pebble Beach Invitational in Pebble Beach, Calif. in November, to celebrate Lamborghini’s recently-announced research and development partnership with Callaway Golf. The annual tournament brings together top players from the PGA, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours, as well as teams of amateurs.
